Debbie Ramos

Hey! I’m Debbie, a fitness expert, personal trainer, entrepreneur, and most importantly, a mom. I’m dedicated to empowering women to embrace their strength using fitness as the catalyst for mental and physical transformation.

My journey toward body empowerment began with my love for dancing, but its roots trace back to my upbringing on Oahu, Hawaii.

Growing up, I was surrounded by rich cultures and diverse body types, which shaped my inclusive outlook on life. Despite this diversity, there was an expectation placed on young girls that our self-worth was determined by our appearance and thinness. This expectation never resonated with me, though I didn’t understand why at the time.

In my early twenties, as a young mom navigating new societal pressures, I struggled to find ways to manage stress and maintain good mental health. After a challenging pregnancy and the birth of my second child, I realized I needed to prioritize my physical and mental well-being more than ever. I started by joining the local gym. Although it was tough to find my rhythm initially, I soon discovered Zumba.

This marked the beginning of my journey towards building the confidence to teach Zumba, opening a new chapter in my fitness journey. Working out provided more than just physical strength; it gave me mental clarity, confidence, empowerment, and a sense of camaraderie with other women.

This became even more crucial after my second child was diagnosed with autism. The gym became a sanctuary for self-care, energizing me and helping me feel more capable of taking care of my family.

As I spent more time at the gym, I noticed a lack of diverse body types in the fitness culture. I was intimidated by the trainers who were all cut and compact; at the time there were few women, and even fewer curvy women, in the fitness space. I wanted to expand the representation of fitness instructors, so I completed certifications in Group Fitness, Personal Training, and TRX. Once I started teaching, I saw the positive impact I had on women in my community, and that’s when I knew I wanted to create a space where women can thrive.

Empower and lift up each other.

This inspired me to create something different—more than just a gym. This is a space where you feel confident, safe, and supported, free from judgment or intimidation. We focus on teaching you to use equipment safely and effectively, educating you on promoting healthy views of body image and mental health, and empowering and uplifting each other. By celebrating our bodies' capabilities beyond appearance, we move away from antiquated fitness ideals. 

Together, let's redefine what it means to be fit, shatter unrealistic societal standards, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. In this inclusive and diverse space, we will emerge as stronger, more confident versions of ourselves. This is where our next chapter begins.
